Set up automatic call forwarding from your existing cell phone number to your personal CaptionMate number to get all of your calls captioned by our service. If you do not turn on call forwarding, you will not receive captions on incoming calls unless someone calls your special CaptionMate phone number. 

To set up call forwarding on an iPhone

Under Calls, turn the Call Forwarding toggle on

Follow the prompt to call the indicated number

Depending on your carrier, you may see a confirmation page

Test if call forwarding was set up properly. Call your regular phone number from a different phone. You should see the incoming call come through the CaptionMate app. Captions should appear once you answer the call.

1. Open the CaptionMate app
2. Tap Settings
3. Under Calls, turn the Call Forwarding toggle on
4. Select your phone carrier
5. Tap Activate
6. Follow the prompt to call the indicated number
7. Depending on your carrier, you may see a confirmation page
8. Tap Close or Dismiss
9. Test if call forwarding was set up properly. Call your regular phone number from a different phone. You should see the incoming call come through the CaptionMate app. Captions should appear once you answer the call.

To cancel call forwarding on an iPhone

Under Calls, turn the Call Forwarding toggle off

1. Open the CaptionMate app
2. Tap Settings
3. Under Calls, turn the Call Forwarding toggle off
4. Select your phone carrier
5. Tap Deactivate
6. Follow the prompt to call the indicated number
7. Depending on your carrier, you may see a confirmation page
8. Tap Close

To set up call forwarding on an Android

Your phone will automatically begin the setup process. Depending on your carrier, you may see a confirmation message.

1. Open the CaptionMate app
2. Tap Settings
3. Under Calls, turn the Call Forwarding toggle on
4. Select your phone carrier
5. Tap Activate
6. Your phone will automatically begin the setup process. Depending on your carrier, you may see a confirmation message.
