As an Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service (IP-CTS) provider, CaptionMate can only be used for incoming and outgoing phone calls, and cannot be used for text messages. Texting is supported through your phone’s regular SMS text app.
If you would like to make sure that people that you call text you back at the correct number (your regular cell phone number), we recommend you keep Outgoing Caller ID turned on in your app settings. If you turn off Outgoing Caller ID, then your CaptionMate number will display when you place outbound calls instead of your registered cell phone number.
Please note that automatic call forwarding does not apply to text messages. If you set up call forwarding, you will continue to receive text messages to your regular cell phone number as usual.
